The reason that you are a sorcerer is not because of who you are, it is because of what you are. So, the more you try to link sorcery to you, the less progress you will make, possibly going nowhere for many years of pointless inquiry. Because we are raised to think about our identity as something very important, approaching nagualism as an extension of our self image is the default mistake that all sorcerers make. What you are energetically is a fact, who you are is an opinion, and since opinions aren't facts, they have no power in dreaming or sorcery. This is why our opinions are worthless noise in the nagual. If you ask yourself, "What is my sorceric purpose in life?" and you mean it as something that includes your life in the tonal, you turn off the sorcery switch by doing it. Your identity as "Billy-Bob" is in the opposite direction of sorcery, whether you are good or bad, smart or stupid, rich or poor, how you identify with that in the tonal is a useless component to try to migrate into the nagual. This non-sorceric approach to sorcery is what keeps sorcerers from making any progress at all for as long as they maintain that futile perspective. If you are a sorcerer that can't see energy or talk to inorganic beings or don Juan, and all you have is your opinions, you have to make an effort to stop indulging in them, you have to stop your internal dialog more than whatever amount you are doing, to the point where you see that your opinions are just the background noise from the tonal and keep you from becoming an actualized sorcerer. If you can't see how inert your opinions are, then you aren't making slow progress, you are making no progress.
