Because the dreaming body does not have any direct physicality attached to it, the death of the physical body is only a shock to its energy body. Death and
sleep have one thing in common, our consciousness slips into our dreaming body with both. The problem, both times, is one of lucidity, in that it is possible
to dream without being self-aware, and that is really a kind of "nothingness." When I have followed people's dreaming bodies, after they died,
none of them appear to be suffering, but most of them seem to not be self-aware either. This worries me of course, as I don't want to end up being caught
up in an endless unconscious dream for eternity. Here is another problem, sorcery is not conducted by our physical body or mind, it is our dreaming body that
executes everything. It is actually possible for your dreaming body to carry out its own self-aware plan without the physical self being aware of it. This is
because the self-awareness of your physical mind and body is not the same as the self-awareness of your dreaming body -- you can have one without the other.
What we really want here is for both self-awarenesses to become aware of each other, we really want "super self-awareness." This type of double
awareness is what I believe leads to power in dreaming and the afterlife, it is required if you want to make decisions about your fate. Power after death
simply means that your energy body is not crippled by death, that it takes on the next leg of the journey in a willful manner.
